There was one Torah for all people at Sinai & in the new covenant the same holds true. Both G-d and Yeshua's target was Yisra'el followed by all nations who would choose to follow the ancient path.
This is just another reason why we're warned that not many should be teachers. It's a dangerous doctrine that I certainly wouldn't want to answer for.Aravahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09760460672785257325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4001811172010286940.post-82061306786900758472011-05-11T20:12:50.077-07:002011-05-11T20:12:50.077-07:00I can see how this would be a hard topic to descri...I can see how this would be a hard topic to describe because it could be misunderstood as not necessarily supporting different covenant responsibilities for Jews and Gentiles who are disciples of the Jewish Messiah.

Ironically, tonight I just finished teaching a 15-week course at my congregation based on my blog post series what Jesus taught the Gentile disciples to obey. The class arrived at a similar set of conclusions to the ones I came to when I originally wrote that blog series last fall. I think a few people were a tad surprised, but everyone said they learned a lot.

It would be impossible to say that the Jewish Messiah came only for the Gentiles and had no impact whatsoever on the Jewish people. After all, he *did* say he came for the "lost sheep of Israel." Nevertheless, it probably makes some folks feel comfortable to say that "the Jews have Moses and the Christians have Jesus" and to let it go at that.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07593266343873200105noreply@blogger.com
